About
erih+ is a unique journal index covering the Social Sciences and Humanities. We are committed to providing researchers with quality checked journals.
erih+ Mission
erih+ is an index for journals in the Social Sciences and Humanities, with a focus on quality journals across all European languages and countries. We strive to enhance the visibility and accessibility of journals, and we support their policies of openness and transparency in line with editorial best practices.
You can read more about the criteria here.
erih+ is open for all journals within the Social Sciences and Humanities, independent of their language, size, or business model. Both open and closed journals, niche journals and larger, more widely used journals are eligible for indexation in erih+.
We pay special attention to community driven journals, especially in European languages other than English. Our mission is to help these journals increase their visibility and reach, as we believe that they contribute to the diversity of the publishing landscape as a whole and to the progress of research.
The community driven journals.
Europe has a lot of community driven, niche journals. In a publishing landscape dominated by large publishing houses, it can be difficult for those journals to gain visibility.
Our aim is to support smaller journals in their efforts to gain visibility and position themselves in the publishing landscape.
Open Access
Open Science is intrinsic to today’s scientific environment, and erih+ supports open research in all its aspects. As a member of OPERAS we are committed to supporting open and available research. However, all journals, no matter the status are eligible for inclusion in erih+.
Multilingualism.
The community driven journals are often multilingual or only published in a local language. As non-English journals often have limited reach and readership, it is the goal of erih+ to contribute to their visibility. By facilitating multilingualism we are also supporting diversity in publishing.
