Best practice and Transparency
We encourage all journals to follow Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing.
Conflict of interest
To minimize endogeny (i.e. manuscripts being reviewed by a closed circle of people who are well acquainted with each other or work in the same institution), the proportion of published papers where at least one of the authors is an editor, editorial board member, or reviewer must not exceed 25%.
A disqualifying conflict of interest exists if the reviewer:
- Was involved in the preparation of the article.
- Stands to benefit directly should the article be accepted for publication.
- Has close family ties with the author.
- Is a former supervisor of the author.
- Is a close collaborator of the author.
- Is in any other situation that could cast doubt on his or her ability to evaluate the article impartially.
Reviewers should be encouraged to consult with editors if in doubt regarding a potential conflict of interest.
Disclaimer

"Scholarly journals in erih+ are indexed at the request of scholars affiliated with universities and other independent research organizations. It is exclusively journals that comply with the erih+ criteria that are indexed.

On false claims of indexation in erih+
erih+ is an open index where journals can be searched for by all interested parties.
Some journals claim to be indexed in erih+ without this being the case, for instance by listing the erih+ logo on their websites.
We will advise the research community to always check whether a journal is indexed with us, rather than to trust that the logo provided on their websites is a guarantee of their indexation.
Please be aware that journals carrying the erih+ logo without actually being indexed, will be removed and risk being disqualified for future inclusion in erih+.
If you notice a journal that is carrying the erih+ logo without actually being indexed , please let us know at: erihplus@hkdir.no
Principles of transparency and best practice for scholarly publications.
COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics), the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), the Open Access Scholarly Publishing Association, and the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME) are scholarly organisations that have collaborated to identify principles of transparency and best practice for scholarly publications.
As members of COPE, erih+ encourages all journals to follow their "Principles of transparency and best practice for scholarly publications". The principles are a work in progress, and are currently in their fourth edition. Read the principles here.
COPE has also formed transparency and best practic guidelines for editors:
